among the many places i have found dog hair...

in my dishwasher???  seriously?  i suppose no space is sacred.  no square inch immune.  actually, the upstairs is still immune, but we're making progress.  i imagine it won't be long before my entire house is laden with daisy's fur.  sigh.  good thing i'm not a neat freak!  oh wait!  i am!  hmm...  this is going to be interesting... ;)

and just in case you haven't seen enough of our sweet girl, here's a few more courtesy of my dear friend karly who just had to stop by and meet "the doggy."  lucky for me she offered to grab my camera and take a few shots.  isn't daisy super cute?  and smart?  and well... just all around lovely?

we're all enjoying a little quiet time.  after two long walks, daisy's pooped!  the kids are upstairs in their rooms trying to contain their excitement until after our daisy-girl naps.

and that, friends, is the last you'll be hearing from me for today.  i promise.

meet daisy.

she's 2 and a half, great on a leash, not so great on the stairs -- but she's ours. :)

she's actually curled up on the blanket behind my chair as i type.

we met her last night.  the rescue lady came to our house for a home visit, and so that we could check this little girl out.  she's a doll, really.  very sweet and eager to please.  we took her on two walks yesterday -- one short one and one long one.  by the end of the second walk she knew which house is ours.  so smart! :)

on the list today --  get a good book about goldens, get some doggy shampoo, and figure out how to break her of this fear of the stairs!  come to think of it, since the bathtubs are all upstairs, we'd better figure out the stair thing sooner than later.  any tips?

happy wednesday!

hooray for regular start times.

after two days of "late start" and noah's school being cancelled on tuesday, we now have school as usual.  thank goodness.  i can't suggest we didn't enjoy the mini-break, however.  we certainly did!

January 16, 2008

gosh, it's been awhile!

wow!  all i can say is, i simply forgot about the old blog.  seriously forgot.  :)

that said, i feel like i should post more than i'm about to.  the reality, however, is that i'm behind -- in laundry, in assignments, in work, and in a whole bunch of other stuff.  basically, i'll keep this brief.

i'm excited to share a few posts here and here about blue dress press.  kelly and i love our products.  and it's excited to see other people who feel the same way.  :)

fontwerks just released their first newsletter of the new year.  if you don't already receive it in your inbox regularly, you can view it here.  lots of really great products out and coming out soon.  you don't want to miss them!

and for those of you who love simple scrapbooks like i do (and for those who've yet to discover it's greatness...) there's a contest i think you'll want to hear about:

“Put It in a Letter” Page Contest

Help us celebrate Universal Letter Writing Week by posting a letter-themed layout in our online Reader Gallery during the week of January 21–25. What do we mean by “letter-themed layout”? Write a letter to yourself, your spouse, your child, your friend, your mother, your brother—anyone—and use it on a scrapbook page. Use the keywords “Universal Letter Writing Week” in the comments so we can find your layout.

At the end of the week, Elizabeth Dillow, author of The Scrapbooker’s Almanac, will select five favorite layouts and announce them in the Reader Gallery. Each winner will receive a copy of Elizabeth’s book and one grand-prize winner will also receive a cool letter-writing kit from Elizabeth.

Only layouts posted January 21–25 will be considered official entries. Post as many letter-themed layouts as you like. No purchase necessary.

sigh.  have i told you how much i love elizabeth dillow's new book?  and how i don't own it yet?  but i cannot enter, so i'm going to have to just save my pennies and buy it the old fashioned way.

now, how's that for a loaded post?  i'll be back soon with more on the snow, snow closures and general musings.  until then...

happy wednesday!
